Balsam Poplars can be found in river valleys across the province. Their resinous and fragrant leaf buds are historically used to make a healing salve called Balm of Gilead and by bees to clean their hives. Their unusual looking flowers are called catkins.Â
Leaves are approximately 2.5 inches by 2.5 inches. Each handcrafted leaf will vary slightly from the photographs. For purchases and additional information please contact us at studio@verdantglass.ca.
